posted Oct 18, 2013, 7:18 AM by JODIE BRYANT

During the October Board of Education Meeting, representatives from Scientific Learning, the company responsible for the Fast ForWord program, announced Hoke County Schools’ status as a National Reference Site.  Hoke County is one of only 30 counties in the nation to receive this recognition.  Each school was commended for their implementation of Fast ForWord,  James Leach and the Hoke County Commissioners were recognized for their support of the program, and Becky Smith was honored for her leadership in this initiative.  Fast ForWord is an online reading intervention program designed for students who are struggling and reading below grade level.  Hoke County has seen tremendous success with the implementation of this program.  We are excited to see Hoke County Schools step on to the national scene with the success of Fast ForWord.
