Our Mission

The Hoke County Schools department of Digital Teaching and Learning is dedicated to providing the support needed for teachers to create continually changing, intentionally planned, student-centered classrooms that encourage collaboration, empower students to explore, and foster authentic engagement through the creation of a personalized blended learning environment in which students produce and create to demonstrate understanding.

Key Focus Areas

Blended Learning

We champion personalized, blended learning environments that combine the best of in-person teaching and digital tools. By fostering collaboration and creativity, we empower students to take ownership of their education while engaging in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

Technology

As a fully 1:1 district, we support the integration of Chromebooks, iPads, ClearTouch Boards, and other digital devices to enhance student learning. In support of the Hoke County Schools Technology Department, our team ensures that students and teachers have the tools and knowledge needed to maximize the impact of technology in and out of the classroom.

School Library Media Centers

Our school libraries serve as dynamic learning hubs where students and teachers access diverse resources, collaborate on projects, and explore new ideas. We advocate for modern libraries that blend traditional literacy with digital fluency and 21st-century skills.

Data Privacy and Security

Safeguarding student and staff data is a top priority for our department. We are committed to ensuring that all digital tools and platforms comply with state and federal privacy regulations, such as FERPA and COPPA.

Through ongoing training, resources, and support, we empower educators to make informed decisions about digital tools while fostering responsible technology use. By maintaining secure systems and promoting digital literacy, we aim to create a safe, trusted environment for learning in today’s connected world.

Digital Teaching and Learning Standards

Hoke County Schools aligns our work with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards, ensuring that both staff and students develop the skills necessary to thrive in a digital age. From digital citizenship to creative problem-solving, these standards guide our efforts in fostering meaningful and responsible technology use.

Professional Development

We offer ongoing professional development tailored to educators' needs. Through workshops, coaching, co-planning, co-teaching, and online resources, we help teachers build capacity and confidence in using technology to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences.

How We Support You

Our department works hand-in-hand with educators, students, and families to create a technology-rich learning environment that opens doors to opportunity and achievement. While every member of the Digital Teaching and Learning team is available to support you, each school has an assigned Digital Technology Instructional Facilitator (DTIF) who provides dedicated, on-site assistance each week.

You’ll find your DTIF actively engaged in your school community—conducting walkthroughs, collaborating with teachers during instruction, participating in PLC meetings, offering coaching sessions, and more. Our goal is to be a visible, approachable, and valuable resource to help you integrate technology effectively and meaningfully.
