Beginning Teacher Program
The Beginning Teacher Support Program is a state-mandated three-year induction program designed to support beginning teachers. The program is structured so that the experiences of beginning teachers are positive and focused on the knowledge, skills, and dispositions associated with effective teaching. The Beginning Teacher Support Program is monitored by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in collaboration with the Personnel Support Coordinators.
Beginning Teacher Support Program Goals
- Improve teaching performance
- Increase the retention of promising beginning teachers
- Promote the personal and professional well-being of beginning teachers
- Satisfy mandated requirements for Beginning Teacher Support Program and licensure
The Personnel Support Coordinators and Mentors will support beginning teachers during their first three years of teaching in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:
- Classroom Management
- Lesson Planning
- Instructional Support
- Professional Development
