Become a Bus Driver
Interested in becoming a bus driver? Follow these steps
- Step 1: Must submit an application with the Hoke County Schools Board of Education. Click Here.
- Step 2: Must attend N.C. school bus training class held by the DMV for three days from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
- Step 3: Must pass a drug test and DOT Medical (The cost of these tests will be $ 50 for the drug test and $ 70 for the DOT Medical)
- Step 4: Must obtain and hold a Commercial Drivers Permit for fourteen days (cost of permit is $ 73.25)
- Step 5: Must attend behind-the-wheel training for three days with the DMV representative.
- Step 6: Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (cost of license is $ 90.00)
- Step 7: Must have background and fingerprint check completed before driving
- ***(all costs will be reimbursed after one year of service)
