  • OUR GOAL

    Hoke County Schools will offer an effective afterschool mastery program within a remote learning environment for middle and high school students. The afterschool program focuses on an academic helpline approach to support mastery of major concepts, social-emotional learning, and college and career readiness. Teacher tutors will provide students with virtual help with schoolwork/homework, mastery of learning in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies, and strategies for social-emotional needs and college and career readiness.

    AREAS OF FEDERAL PROGRAMS

    Title I, Part A – Improving the Academic Achievement of Disadvantaged Students –Title I, Part A, the cornerstone of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), previously known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), is the largest federal education program. Its intent is to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency in challenging state academic content and performance standards.

    The Title I, Part C-Migrant Education Program (MEP) funds additional educational programs for migrant children (ages 3-21). Migrant students have the same risk factors as other students. These students also face further challenges because of their frequent moves.

    Title I Pre-K– Title 1 Pre-Kindergarten is a federally funded program that serves children and families with the greatest educational needs as determined by screening. This program is designed to provide quality educational experiences for 4-year-old children that will help them prepare for successful kindergarten and other educational settings.

    Title III – Language Instruction for LEP and Immigrant Students (English as A Second Language-ESL) – Federal Assistance targeted for language minority students identified as Limited English Proficient (LEP).
